Hello, do you remember us? We have been in the news lately. Do you remember? There were some movements in the earth. They were only a little more intense this time. And those movements keep on going.
Our house no longer exists. Our work is gone and we therefore have no income. Our children can no longer go to school. There is too little food. We are thirsty because there is too little clean water.
We want to straighten our houses again. That our children can go to school again. That we can experience our faith again. That we can start working again.
We are not defeated. Our backs are right and we believe in the future. Our reconstruction is progressing steadily … only … we are all alone.
There is a lot of hard work done. Different organizations work very hard and do a very good job. The doctors who are in the form of the people of “The Bridge”. This team does incredibly well and a lot of work. They drove from village to village last week. We have the “Friends for Clean Water Foundation” and they ensure that hundreds of special buckets are handed out, so people have clean drinking water. Derk who brought goods with his organization and renewed 1.5 kilometers of water pipes. Yani who live on Lombok and collects goods with her group and then delivers them everywhere it is need. And then the lonely scooter who bought a box of water from his last money and will deliver it to the disaster area. Everyone makes a contribution, big and small.
The airport in Denpasar is full of relief goods and food and there is a task for the government to get it quickly to Lombok. Due to all sorts of circumstances, the trucks sometimes stand still for 12 hours in the port of Padangbai to cross over to Lombok with relief supplies.
Then of course everyone calls: what do you miss?
What people miss on Lombok is a lot of money. Money with which trucks and excavators can be hired to move the rubble. The people need sand, cement, batako (local concrete block), tiling, sanitary tools, window and door frames, roof tiles, construction materials for the roofing, concrete for the foundation, reinforcement for the foundation. Concrete or asphalt to repair the roads in the village. Workers to put the houses back as quickly as possible. School desks, blackboards, school materials such as exercise books, pens, books, etc.
The rainy season is coming again and that makes life in the self-made tents even more intolerable. The slightly weaker among them will then become ill very quickly and then the work for the doctors will become even heavier. Roads come under water. More landslides will take place so that villages are no longer accessible.
The people in Lombok need to be supported here. Do not tell them what to do, no they provide the means to restore their villages again. We will not be able to help every village, but every village is a move in the right direction.
We are not going to give money. We go together to see what they need together. That is then ordered and delivered and paid by us. So we and the donors are always sure that the money ends up in the right place and the village is actually restored. Through Facebook and my website the financial side is kept and is clear to everyone.
On September 5th I will return to the village of Adi (Senura) at the foot of the Rinjani and seems to be the epic center. The village is completely flat. Together with Adi I will try to map out the environment and look together with the people what we can mean here.
We want to have t-shirts made with the text Lombok Bangkit (Lombok Get Up). For companies it is possible to have a logo printed. The t-shirts cost 225,000 rupees (about 13,10 euro) and in sizes M – L – XL. The intention is that you have to sign up and have to pay before we send them.
They can be ordered by responding to this message by email, via Messenger or sending a whatsapp to +6281246721938
Voluntary donations without buying t-shirts are also welcome.
